Question on PMP Application
Submitted by subbu.ramasamy on Mon, 09/17/2012 - 02:36
I have a few questions regarding filling the PMP application. It would be great if someone can help me here.
1. I am currently handling few projects with multiple releases going on for a couple of years. So should I account each of the release as a separate project or can I add up the hours and report it under a single project entry?
2. What should I enter as the end date for the current project that I am managing. Should I enter a future date here and just account for the spent hours so far or should I not enter it at all?
Thanks

1. Just count the number of
1. Just count the number of hours you have spent on project management activities as part of these releases and check if it comes to 4500.
2. I dont see a need to enter the end date , if you dont have one. You can always enter your contract or SoW's end date if needed.

Please treat each release
1. Please treat each release as a project and I would not suggest you showing them as a separate project. Let’s say your project is ABC Banking System and so far you have delivered 7 releases on it. In this case show PMI one project with name “ABC Banking System” and add hours spent on all deliverables and show as consolidated.
2. Show the project end date as the end date for last deliverables and include time upto the last deliverables only. In short, do not include the current on-going deliverables.
