My story so far - Looking for inputs to crack PMP
Looking for inputs from group members in preparing for PMP Exam, which I plan to take in one month from now.
My story so far in search for PMP Certification
In Feb/Mar/April, I went though 35 hours course, PMBOK and Rita Book.
After that I gave the following exams
HeadFirst free test- 65%,
Oliver lehmann 75 Qs - 50%
Rita Exam 1- 65%,
Rita Exam 2 - 69%
PM Study Test 1- 73%.
After a month long gap in May, in June I went through PMBOK, Rita and made myself more comfortable with ITTO.
I gave the following tests: Oliver lehmann 75 Qs - 68%.
In other chapter wise Mock tests that I gave, I am getting 70%+.
Let me know your thoughts on the below points.
A) I am planning to give PMP exam at the end of July, which essentially leaves 1 month of prepartion.
During this time, I am planning to focus on
1) First 2 Weeks - Read PMBOK again, give chapter wise mock up tests from different sources and get better at ITTO+Formulas
2) Next 2 weeks - Give around 6-7 mock Exams. Target score 75+% before actual Exam.
B) Is it a good strategy to take Exam date now itself (say end of July) and prepare for the exam OR is it better to take the Exam date after I start getting 75+% in the mock up exams.
Thanks

You seems to be on-track
Hi
Seems you are on track, probably its just a matter of up-shifting the gear and switching to the fast lane. Scores look ok but certainly requires further improvement. You may like to have a look at my PMP LL for prep plan.
Assuming you can spare 3-4 hours / day and 6-8 hours on weekends (Sat/Sun) then I guess end of July may be achievable, but again go by your convenience and confidence, dont rush unless you have strong reason to do so. Personally I like to put the target date first and then start the chase. In any case do not loose the momentum till you take the final exam.

Thanks Makarand for your
Thanks Makarand for your viewpoint.
I have already visited your LL before. I intend to put around 3-4 hours/day on a average for the next one month. I am tilting towards taking the Exam date (July end or first week of Aug) now itself, so that I keep myself focused and not lose the momentum. Worst case, I can reschedule for $70.

Your marks are on border
You have referred Rita, Pmstudy and headfirst. I see you are going good. Your marks are on border line, but since you have a month time I would say, concentrate on PMBOK now and read people LL here to try the best possible Mock test questions. Combination of PMBOK and good Mock Test should make you fit to pass the PMP exam. All the best!

Go ahead with your plan
Hey Pal,
Go ahead with your plan and make sure you just focus on PMP exam for now. Everything you have listed, I see excellent. Go ahead with it.
Make sure, you do not run to become 100% perfect. Treat PMP exam like an Exam and nothing else.
Good Luck.
