CAPM

Greetings,

Found this highly recommenthis forum via Google. Hoping to get some advise.

I don't have much experience with managing project therefore I

have started with CAPM. Im hoping to progress into a PM oriented role once I attain CAPM qualifications.

I was wondering how many of you's here recommend Instructor led training for the CAPM exam? I only seek this because I prefer going face-to-face training set to finish in 3 days so that I will get the motivation to start and finish the training within the defined period.

I do understand there are several resources you need to refere to pass the PMP exam and I hope this process will be less intensive for the CAPM?

I have already purchased Andy's PMP v4 book late last year and yet to fully finish reading. I see that Rita's book is highly recommended.

Below are some of the q's I have:

1) recommended PMI REPs in Chennai or Bangalore (India)

2) Study materials for CAPM - I will be spending some time in this forum to read the old posts but if you feel nice to save me time please do share.

3) if you dont recommend instructor training then please suggest online courses such as the one offered by simplilearn. I like Simplilearn's online price for 30 day access to PMP, should I take this instead of the more expensive CAPM online course which is offered only for 90 days?

4) Practise questions

Sorry if the above have been answered several times in the past, if so it would be great if you can just point me to the older threads.

TIA

by the way, whats with the spam here?

No replies? I guess I have to use the search button eh.

I passed CAPM in July.  I used HeadFirst, Rita's 6th Edn and PMBOK.

For sample exams, i used PMStudy, PMExamPrepation.com (i purchased this exam, this has 3 levels-low, medium and high), techfaq360, knowledgebuster.com, HeadFirst PMP.

I was always scoring above 75% in all the above.

Hope it helps.  Good luck.

hi thanks for the reply. could you please tell me approx how long it took to finish preparing?

I was going to give myself 4 full weeks of full time study. I have already started reading chapters from Andy's book but yet to buy RIta''s book. I also got PMBOK but I dont think I will refer to that much until I finish Andys or Rita's book.

Do you really need to take that many sample exams for CAPM? I was under the assumption CAPM Is far easier than PMP as it contains non-situational type questions.

Also do you recommend instructor-led training? How did you earn your PDU's?

Thank you again

I did a self study.  No matter how many weeks you read.  As other PMP's say, i kept my goal as getting above 75% or 80% in the sample tests.  When i reached that level, i felt i was ok for the exam.  I studied on my own.

I have passed CAPM in last month i used certifiedeasy.com study guides . i got 90% marks i am very happy to invest money here

I have passed CAPM exam and i used certifyzone.com's study guides

hi i need CAPM exam questions of cheatsexam.com

Planning phase has least money involved because it’s all about making various baselines (scope, cost, time, risk, quality etc) and getting it approved. The worst case is the plan rejection, but this is iterative as you can re-plan your baselines as per PMBOK. Hence planning process should be least risky.
