Passed the PMP exam yesterday
Ladies & Gentlemen,
I'm glad that I'm part of this elite group of PMP certified professionals.
I cleared the exam on my first attempt. Many thanks to my family members and friends who were very supportive during those gruelling preparation days. Without their support and prayers I may not have cleared this tough test.
Here is how I prepared for the PMP certification:
Duration of preparation : 60 days
First Month : Two to Three hours a day
Second Month : Six to Eight hours a day
Started with the PMBOK 3rd Edition - Complete one round of study from start to end
Then Head first PMP - One round of study from start to end - To remember those ITTOs
Then Rita Mulcahy's book - Complete one round of study from start to end
Take practise tests of Rita's after each chapter of study.
Just before two weeks for the exam:
I attended several mocks test of Rita's
Attended the chapter end tests in Joseph Philips (one round)
Attended the chapter end tests from Kim Heldman (one round)
Just before two days for the exam:
I completed one round of walk thru of the PMBOK. Prepared notes, memorized all the formulas, tried to memorize few ITTOs, more important is to understand the ITTOs, then you can easily recollect them.
My test was at 5 PM. I took 3 hrs for answering all the questions and used the remaining one hour for reviewing the questions.
When I finally clicked the submit button my heart was pounding, but it took only few seconds to reveal the fact that I have passed the test. Countless thanks to the Holy Spirit who guided me in clicking the winning answer.
My humble advise to you ladies and gentlemen, if I can clear this exam, you too can.
Remember there is no short cut to hard work. The result will be sweet when you work hard. Most importantly you should have a plan before you start your preparation.
Don't get carried away when hearing the horror stories of the toughness of this exam.
When you are well equipped then you can go for the battle. Success is guaranteed.
My best wishes to all those aspiring to get certified in PMP and my Congratulations to all those cleared the certification.
Regards.
Peter, PMP

Hi Rohit, Thank you.
Hi Rohit,
Thank you.
I'm not quite sure. It is wise to buy both the books. An investment of Rs.1000 or a little above.
Wish you good luck.
