change request in Perform Quality Control

Hi All,


As you know the change request is output of Perform Quality Control, my question this request is talking about corrective and preventive actions for deliverables or process.

Change request in Perform Quality Control doesnot talk about corrective or preventive actions for deliverable or process on the contrary it talks about if recommeded corrective or preventive actions or a defect repair requires a  change to the Project Management Plan then Change Request should be intiated. (PMBOK page 214).


Corrective actions are taken to get the anticipated future project outcomes to align with the project plan.


Preventive actions are those that can be developed to reduce the probablity and/or impact of the problems before they occur and also it will reduce the potential impacts of risk events should they occur.


Defect repairs : A defect occurs when a project component does not meet the requirements or specifications.
