PMP Exam Aug 24 - Scoring 65% -70 %

Hi

I am constantly scoring in the range of 65-70% in practice tests. Few times scored less than 65 and more than 70 also but thats just 2-3 times.

I have read Rita two times and skimmed PMBOK 4th Edition once. Additionally have given all the Rita tests, there use to score in the range of 65-75 mostly but when I try rita tests now scoring 80-85%.

PMSTUDY Free exam - 62 % (direct simple one liners from PMBOK made me crazy)

Headfirst free exam - 72%

BrainBOK (50 Free questions) - 60% (direct simple one liners from PMBOK

made me crazy)

WhizLabs (1st practice test) - 67%

WhizLabs (2nd practice test) - 66%

I have bought 4 full length tests from whizlabs, yet to give remaining two.  Also I am NOT scoring constantly low in any of the areas its mix n match and is varying with every test.

I am confused as to where do I stand? Am I prepared for exam? should I go ahead with above score range for the D day assuming this score shall make me pass the exam

Please suggest/help at the earliest.

Also forgot to mention two more tests I took:

PM-abc (Free 100 questions) - 67%

Oliver (Free 75 Questions) - 60% (looked tough to me)

Let me share my experiences to you : if you constantly scored within a similiar range, that means you did not improve even you did many rounds of mock exams.  No worry, you still have 5 working days to refine your study strategy ....

  1. Try to have few days of day-off so you can focus on the study;

  2. Try to re-analyze your past mock exams, and identify your weak areas tonight.  You need to spend time to review the wrong questions and learn the rationale / "logic" behind; of course, categorize them and revisit the notes ( i guess you're weak in ITTO as you mentioned few times .... Oliver, PMBOK made you crazy );  You should do this before to take another mock exam, otherwise, you would get the similar marks ..... Remember that you should score at least 80% from Rita, and PM-study.

  3. Memorize all the formula and ITTO so to guarantee you should get marks from them.

  4. Assumed you've clearly identify your weak areas and review the relevant notes, you can try FREE test from Exam Central ( http://www.examcentral.net/pmp/pmp-exam-questions ) at least 3 times with 80% or above;

  5. If you really not feel comfortable to take the exam on 24 Aug, then reschedule the exam not late than 30 August so to gain few more days.

Hope the above study strategy help ....

Hi

I think you need some more practice,.... Try scoring around 65% to 70% in pmstudy, rita tests, pm perfect is also good one. Other benchmark would be Pmzilla book if you can score 55% and above.  If you use pmzilla book now, you will easily score 70% and above in others.

Regards

Thanks for the response. I gave 10 free question test from PMperfect and scored 80%.

Are there any other free tests available in PM perfect?

Where can I find PMZilla Book..or any other sample questions?

Thanks

Rohit

I am happy to inform am PMP CERTIFIED..cleared the test 2 hours back...yeeeeaaaaahhhhh...WHAT A RELIEF..!!!!!

Only one advise always trust yourself (everyone is different)..never ever follow anyones style or approach, BUILD YOUR OWN. I have seen people failing who scored more than 80% and otherwise also. People passing who scored 50-60% in practice tests

Three words for success PRACTICE , PRACTICE and more PRACTICE..PMP actual questions were pretty simple mostly 1-2 liners but very tricky..I would give full marks to pmstudy and examcentral.

I use to score average 65-70 however towards last week was scoring ~75%. Did lots n lots of free full length tests (pmstudy, pmhub, examcentral, whizlabs (bought paid examsimulator of 4 tests), simplilearn, oliver, pmp.cexams, lot of google search and what not..i use to think whether spend 4 hours studying or giving tests but always ended up giving tests and i think that PAID..!!

I studied PMBOK on and off and Rita 6th edition 2 times. Spent almost 2 months (religiously) 3-4 hours a day, this amount of time should be good enough to clear the exam else it will be GOLD PLATING:)

I can continue writting on and on but if anyone needs any help or guidance, please do let me know..!!

Thanks everyone

Rohit

Last but certainly not the least BIG THANKS to Rajesh Nair (wherever he is) notes that helped having a grasp of pmbok. Even if you do not study PMBOK ensure you have gone through his notes.

and most importantly THANKS to my wifey and daughter who supported me all along and sacrified alot. Today am happy to sit and play with my daughter after two months (literally).

DAY BEFORE EXAM -

Was very anxious not to know what to study so left everyting and watched two movies, that relieved all the tensions. Seems again a good call, Night before drawn pg # 43 of PMBOK and thats it. Prayed to god and slept.

Congrats pal.

I am so happy for you since I am same as you. Cant score more than 70 in PMstudy or Exam Central.

Appearing on 30.8 and by the way have not ehe big ven touched PMBOK. I know this will be one of the big reasons for the debacle :(

Congrats again pardner...
