Regarding Process Input/tools/Outputs

Hi

I am preparing for the PMP exam and I have one basic question. Should we need to memorize all the process inputs/tools and outputs? I find it is diffcult to memorize or if we know the concepts is enough. I would appreciate your recommendations and my advance thanks.

Thanks,

Sankara

I've read a lot of LLs in this forum and almost of them told that you don't need to memorize ITTO.

 dear all

Today i have cleared pmp exam successfully. It took exactly 3 weeks (8-10 hours per day) to study.

did a systematic scan of PMBOK, wrote relevant notes and  in my notebook  which were made crisp

and easy to remember if consulted (ERIC).

I feel remembering ITTOs is a must for exam becos it is a grid (skeleton) of the whole PMBOK. By braindumping on the scatch sheets given in exam, its ready reference saves lot of time rather than memorising and recalling through brain. Not just plain input/out questions (direct ones) but also other issues are directly or indirectly related to ITTOs. Hence, having a ready chart is a boon. Chances of success tremendously increase.

Now, the question? how to remember. Friends, use a mind map, which should help. ONe can make his own depending upon the  background he wants to use for mind map. (hope everyone knows that mindmap for any thing is related to a background (sometimes story) that one can co-relate) use it for each ITTO as a seperate map for easy retention and dumping during exam.

Satish,

Do you mean that you brain dumped all 42 processes (i.e. page 43 of the PMBOK), or do you mean all 42 processes plus their ITTOs.  I'm curious because I don't see how all the processes including their ITTO's could fit on one piece of paper.

Thank you!

Hello Satish,

Would you be kind enough to share your notes & mindmap with us. It would be of great help. Also, is it necessary to memorise word for word of Page 43 of PMBOK/ the terms alone. Appreciate anyone's help here. Thanks.

While starting the preparation it may look that we need to memorize the process input/tools and outputs but gradually when you start building concepts these things will fall in place.

From exam perspective you need to memorize these as there will be questions around the same.
