I was selected for PMI's random audit and it was under Category 1- where they want to see your experience, 35 contact hours and University degree.  I sent all these requested materials/documents via DHL courier and received an email that I have cleared the PMI Audit. One surprising fact was that I received 2 mails from PMI in a second- One acknowledging my audit materials and the other mail that I have cleared and am now authorized to appear for the coveted credential PMP :-)

P.S- I also mailed them my Prince2 Practitioner certificate to prove them I have hardcore project management experience.

Great to see this topic on the forum.

I have one question, I was told by my colleague that he was also requested to send the project documentation as part of audit. I can't find any information about such process, but perhaps someone else also heard about it? Let me add that it happened 5 years ago, so maybe something changed in a meantime.

I recently cleared my audit in 3rd week of March 2015. I was asked for

1. copies of degree certificates

2. copy of proof of completing 35 contact hours

3. signature from my manager verfying my project experience. PMI had sent me the experience detials which I had filled in the application format in a pdf format. I took printout of these pdfs and my manager signed it and returned to me in sealed envelope.

I put all the above 3 documents in envelope and sent it to PMI. once they received the cleared my audit application on same day.
