Communication Channels

When i come across questions related to communication channels i think project manger should be included in calculating the communicaiton channels, but i see some questions which considers only stakeholders to determine the total communication channels or additional communication chanells. Kindly clarify me whether we must also consider project manager also during the determination of communication channels.

 Hi,

Yes, you need to always include the project manager when performing team communication channels calculations. The project manager is the project team leader after all.

One piece of advice to you as well as other PMP students: Please do as many sample PMP questions as possible but don’t get yourself confused by them. Only the sample questions from PMP books from renowned authors should be trusted. I am not saying that most of the sample PMP questions present on the internet or the online exam simulators are incorrect, but some of them are. This is not due to a non-PMP creates such questions; such problems arise when the author of a question himself/herself proofreads the question. You won’t find such questions during the actual PMP exam as the questions are proofread and verified multiple times by a number of PMPs. So my advice to you is to take as many exams as possible, that will enlighten you for sure, but don’t get confused by an answer if it is in conflict with PMBOK guide or any renowned book on PMP. That could be an unintentional mistake or a typo.
