PMBOK - Meaning on page #41

I am reading the PMBOK guide right now and on page 41 there is the statement "Individual Process Groups and individual constituent processes are often iterated priorto completing the project."

What are the "constituent processes" it is talking about? I don't get what this phrase means.

thanks!

 Hi,

The 42 PMBOK processes are divided into 5 process groups (you can say process categories):

Initiating Process Group (contains 2 processes)

Planning Process Group (contains 20 processes)

Executing Process Group (contains 8 processes)

Monitoring and Controlling Process Group (contains 10 processes)

Closing Process Group (contains 2 processes)

When the PMBOK guide references to “constituent processes” it is referring to the specific processes in a process group. For example, the constituent processes on the Initiating Process Group are Develop Project Charter and Identify Stakeholders.

I hope that answers the question.
