Need to Pass PMP on 2nd Try - Recommendations on PMP Prep Classes (online?)

I failed my PMP on my first attempt this July, and really want to be sure I pass it on the 2nd try in late November.

I am doing self-study, and taking practice tests, and have found advice on this forum very useful, but think I would also benefit from an online PMP course (cannot do a classroom one due to my work schedule).   Any recommendations about the best ones out there?  I see some sites offer a guaranteed pass--is this worth the extra $$ to get this guarantee?

I would post this on the other forum about products, but in browsing in there it looks as if it has become littered with promotions and spam from providers.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Since you have already attempted the exam, so you will be familiar with the topics and structure of this certification. I would recommend instead of doing online courses, you can spend time in first reading Head First and then Rita Mulcahy.

Above all I recommend you attempting lots of good Mock tests. These tests would keep you prepared for actual exam. It really helps.

Here is a link to list of some good mock's.

hi...

i thought about doing a class too after my first attempt, but i am glad i decided against it.  i know that i knew the material when i took the test the first time... my problem was that i did not really pay that much attention to what was really being asked.  i would suggest you doing a ton of mock exams.. i used the 4 that i purchased from pmstudy.  it really helped me..  i hope it helps you too.. good luck!!!

What I miss from those mock exams is explanaton on why I anwsered incorrectly and rationale on what the correct anwser is.

I failed my PMP exam back in July 2013 after 4-day boot camp, and 62 hrs (in 3 month period) of study time with Rita's book. I was scorring 70% on her test questions.

I will give this one more try... Thinking of buying another book:

Achieve PMP Exam Success, 5th Edition: A Concise Study Guide for the Busy Project Manager by Diane Altwies, Janice Preston (Paperback)

It comes with 1000 online questions

This book is advocated by PMI on their website, so perhaps it will give me a better understanding.

This by far is the most difficult test I have taken....

Overall I'm depressed about this whole thing. :-(

I would recommend you find a coach who is available to you reply your quries and interact with you online... i do this with my students... and have a look at our online program (www.izenbridge.com/pmp/online-course/

On Mocks

1. I would say its not the quantitiy but quality matter, and yes you need to know why it is wrong or righ... rather thank taking another free test

2. Rita's Questions + Scordo (PMI Eread and Reference , free once member ) are more than enough to make people ready,  what i have added is some more on it to fill the gap... but that is just to get feedback on how my students are progressing.

On Preparation

It all about taking the right feedback about your progress and changing the approach as and when needed...i find approaches vary with people... one may not be efficient for all... and that is something we need to understand.

Thank you for the constructive feedback.
