Today I passed my PMP. I started to prepare  this test one year ago ..but my preparation did not go well  and finally I did my first attempt in Jan 2013 without proper preparation and I failed in first attempt. I reviewed myself for reason for failure in my first attempt, it was not proper prearation ..I was tried to memorize all concepts from Rita book(instead of properly understand concetps). Second reason was I did not practice enough mock tests (practicing mock tests helped a lot) ..I was concentrating more on reading Rita .. also did not read PMBOK properly. After my first attempt failure ..I concentrated more on understanding concepts, practiced more mock test ..re-read topics in PMBOK for the questions went wrong in my mock tests..re-reading PMBOK for questions went wrong in mock test helped a lot to understand concepts and finally helped in final exam.

For mock test, I used  "PMP Exam Prep: Questions, Answers, & Explanations, 2012 Edition by  Christopher Scordo " ..it is free if you are PMI member.

Also I took free PMSTUDY exam and paid PMSTUDY 3 exam.

I found one very good lessons learnt posted by "Josupra " during my preparation for second attempt ..Thanks to Josupra for very good LL..given link below for the same for your information ..this is very useful to plan your own strategy to pass PMP exam.
