Passed the exam on third attempt!!

OMG... I'm excited as I've just passed the exam on the final attempt.

I got 2 BPs on the light process groups (initiating and closing)

I got 3 MPs on the heavy groups (planning, executing, monitoring and controlling)

I never opened the PMBoK guide, never read Rita, Abisheik or Head first or dummies books.

Although doing those might be useful, but being employed in two jobs and responsible for a family it's hard to find time for all of these references.

What I did was that I used my experience, then I paid more than $800 for one Rita's full registration online tutorials.. and used the tutorials carefully. I know that many of the questions I failed to answer were already mentioned in those tutorials but I was too tired to concentrate during the whole four hours.

Even though I took the exam twice before, I was determined the last time.. I felt like I was studying something I haven't heard of before.. This is probably why I didn't get any P.

The best thing I did "DURING" the exam was taking 5 minutes break. I took the break when I had 50 questions left to answer. I know for a fact that the first 50 questions and the last 50 questions were my best ones, I was so focused. I encourage people to take their break for 5 minutes whenever they feel concentrating less.

Good luck to you all.

Congratulations! Anyway, your comment "I never opened the PMBoK guide" needs a Risk Reassesment at Monitor & Control Risk. :)

Enjoy your PMP

Congratulations Friend for passing this confusing difficult exam. I failed this exam today and by the way this is my second  attempt. So I guess I have one more chance. I think that luck was on your side because I got 3 MP and 2 BP and still failed. Most of the questions that I got were all about two paragraph long and made it really hard for me to go through concentrate and answer. I also did not take a single break. I spent the whole four hours on the exam and thought that I would pass but still no go. So I have just now started going through the PMBOK again but the sad news is that the exam is changing on the 31st of July and PMI will be switching the exam to reflect on PMBOK version 5. As a result I really do not know what to do because most of the exam questions I presumed would have been changed starting August 01, 2013

If anyone has any idea as what is going to happen, please send me any information that would be very helpful to my email address:- e.darco@shaw.ca I also got a lot of Calculations questions. Is there any book that would help me with formulas? Please advise.

Congratulations again. I am glad that you have finally been able to pass this wicked exam.
