I am happy to report that I passed my PMP examination yesterday. The test was challenging but I came prepared. I am going to provide feedback on the materials I used to prepare for this test.

To provide some background, I read Rita and the PMBOK three times each. I probably skimmed the PMPBOK 50 times in preparation leading up to the test. I read Abhishek's and Rajesh's notes multiple times, thoroughly. I also took multiple simulation tests resulting in varying success, including the PMZilla 200 question book.

The most frustrating thing about using all of this material is that in many cases there were conflicts and contradictions between notes from PMZilla members, the PMZilla 200 Q book, PMBOK, Rita, and practice tests. As a matter of fact, some of the resources I used weren't updated to reflect PMBOK V4 at all, they referenced V3. I didn't realize this until later in my study plan and had wasted hours of studying concepts I wasn't going to be tested on. This was very frustrating.

My point being is that when you find material to study, make sure you find one version of the truth. For me, the PMBOK became the closest version of that truth while the others were shades of the truth and in some cases completely went against PMBOK. There were notes that people swore by to use for preparation that had conflicting statements in them. Some of the tests and notes didn't use proper English or grammar. My caution to those who are preparing is to use free and paid materials, and notes from other members, with discretion. They may send you down the wrong path.
