Need the reasoning behind the right answer
Such questions blow my mind. Can some one explain the reasoning behind the right answer?
Question from Christopher Scordo's Book -
You've just completed a solid waste management project in Malawi. The contractor you are working for has a strict policy of abiding by local laws and rules, although the local resources working on the project have a much more lax approach to following laws and policies. Now at the end of the project, you are handing over the operational equipment to the local operators and disposing of the leftover inventory and other furniture which was used during the project. More than 50% of the toxic materials used during the project remains in your inventory. There is no law that would prohibit you from disposing of either the type or quantity of remaining materials in the local sewage system. What should you do?

I agree there is a very thin
I agree there is a very thin line between the answers. As social responsibility, we should not do something which will harm others. So disposing in local sewage system would not be an option, neither can we just abandon the materials.
I am not sure how B is the right answer, since it just says do not dispose the materials, atleast the question does not say that disposing the material in some other way would impact something else

Why answer is not A
as per my interpretation the answer should be A being answer B confuses me with my understanding of PMBOK ethics part.
