Need Information regarding Application processing

Hi,
I am planning to take the PMP Exam. I am having slight confusion in starting the application process. Do we need to apply for membership first and then process the application or it should be in the other way? Please help me to understand which one is the best option?

Both Processes are un related
You DON'T need PMI memebership for PMP Exam OR vice versa
Having PMI Membership is gives access to some reading material and iother PMI information PLUS it redices your PMP exam fee

PMI membership good practice But Not a Requirement
Think what rganesh is asking is if it a PMI Requirement to be member to be PMP certified and answer is NO, As I mentioned earlier its good practice to become PMI member, But it is NOT required by PMI to be a member in order for you to become PMP

With membership it costs 139
With membership it costs 139 plus 405 otherwise 555 so u can decide accordingly I think it does not harm to go for it
