Need help in filling "Experience Verification Form III" section in PMP application

Hello

I'm planning to take my PMP exam very soon but need to deal with the application process first. I downloaded the pdf and am kind of stuck in section "Experience Verfication Form Part III". Not sure how descriptive do i need to be when explaining the tasks i performed in each phase? Is there a word limit? Do i need to go into project details 'cause i rather not? If not, then the description just seems to be text book explanation of the process. And for all projects i'm including in the application the work i did was pretty much the same, so if the description is generic can i simply copy paste the same thing across all projects or just tweak the wording?

If anybody can share a sample text that was included in the application for each phase that would give me a good idea.

If its for same project, you can copy paste. Just make sure you are able to explain if there is an audit.

mostly its the same what we  do....but i will suggest, change the wordings...


 


what i did: from the domain, the list of tasks, i selected 2-3 from each phase which were applicable to me and then used them in writing my responsibilities.....


and most imp: whatever you write and hrs filled in, do inform to your manager to whom you will appraoch in case of audit. if he is OK with that, np and go ahead....but let him know before submitting the app. It is very very IMP....


 


i went thro PMI audit process and since my manager was knowing whatever I submitted, within minutes, he signed and audit process got completed in a week's time.

I had so much trouble figuring this out myself, or finding examples online, I'll share you an example of one I recently wrote for my application. I can't say this is exactly what they expect, or even if it's good - but it was enough for them to accept the application.

I made an effort to mention PMBOK processes and formal deliverable names. I mentioned almost nothing about the actual projects (just in the first sentence - my role and project type). I focused on demonstrating what processes my role in the project covered, and naming some of the outputs.

Here's the style I wrote one in -
"Managed development and release of new technology service. Obtained authorization from stakeholders, developed Project Charter. Developed a Project Management Plan, Project Scope Statement and a WBS. Monitored Project Schedule, Resources, Project Funding Requirements. Developed Quality Management Plan. Developed Risk Management Plan and documented issue response. Contributed to Procurement SOWs. Created project Staff Assignments, and managed project team. Monitored project work and controlled risks. Closed project."

There's a very small 550 character limit (including spaces), my example is close to the max, so I just picked a few things that spread across all the processes from Initiating to Closing. I think they just want to see the breadth of your PM experience.  I actually had to review the PMBOK first to get the PMI terms right - if you have a lot of PM experience I'm sure it'd be less effort.

If anyone has better insight, it would be interesting to know!

I used an excel spreadsheet that contained one line per project with the hours and description.  Then I emailed everyone that would verify my work to make sure they agreed.  Then I submitted it without issues.  I also had to review the PMBOK to get the wording.

You don't need to fill out the pdf version for the application just fill it out online. It is very flexible you can do many changes any time before the submission of your application.
