MIssion PMP - Accomplished!

Cleared PMP Exam on first try !  With 2P (Planning & Executing) & 3MP !

Lessons Learnt

Do's

1) PMI wants you to pass the exam, they give atleast 30 very easy questions + 30 numericals based on Earn value, cost, CPM/PERT and simple maths. Around 20 questions directly based on tool & techniques. Means easy win 80 Q's !

From rest 120 question, you have to do only 40-50 right making your correct answer count to total of 120-130. And you PASS!

2) Rita's Fasttrack & Chris Scodo book is MORE than sufficient to cover mocks tests.

Dont's

- Oliver lehman/ PM study/ techfaq360/ preparepm are all wastage of time. You dont need actually it.

- Classroom training are NOT at all required !

- Super PMP, Lehman Tough30 etc.. not required at all !

- You can use 'Exam Central' site of you dont have Rita Fastrack

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About my preparation (Total 3 months with 20 hrs weekly)

- Read Rita 2 times fully (Each round in 2 weeks approx)

- PMBOK 2 times fully (Each round in 2 weeks approx)

- Did lots of questions from here and there (Approx 2000 Q's).

Last 1 week

- Rita - Only underlined lines & important points (in 8 hours).

- Chirs Scodo - 50Q Mock exams 1 each day. Score between 65% - 80%. It decreases as you give later exams.

- Rita Fastrack - 100 Qs each day.

- PMBOK only to clear doubts from wrong answers.

- Only Important points (Last 3/4 sheets) from Abhishek/ Rajesh Nairs' excel in last 2 days.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly exam is easy. Just be thorough with the basics. Dont care about 20 lengthy questons during preparation, it is the remaining 180 medium & easy question which will make you pass.  ;-)

Cheers  & best of luck,

-Pranav
