Incorrect email address of manager in PMP application
Submitted by harryt on Tue, 05/08/2012 - 03:12
Hi,
I've submitted the pmp application and have been selected for an audit.
I sent my experience audit letter to my previous company's manager. And he points out that his email address entered is incorrect, though it is a slight mistake.
How to rectify this mistake as I was not able to figure out a way to modify the application after submission. I guess PMI does not allow that?
Please suggest a way out! Would appreciate that.
thanks,
Harry

@ harryt - should not be a big worry
Send an email to PMI support for the same and check with them. To my knowledge and experience PMI basically looks for your project involvement and not email/contact number that keeps changing. Your project manager can circle the email address and write the correct one with his pen and sign there. I don’t think, email and contact details should create any issue for you. All the best!

Thanks Saket!Just one more
Thanks Saket!
Just one more question.
Is it possible for the HR to sign the experience audit form if the manager is unavailable to sign (i.e. is onsite)?
thanks,
Harry

Yes, any authority can sign
Yes, in any organization there are authority and backup assigned. In case your manager is not there, all his/her senior in the reporting chain including the HR manager can sign on his/her BEHALF. But keep in mind, always be honest in showing who has signed. Lets see with an example.
Say your Manager name is Mr. ABC and the authorized HR Manager is MR. XYZ. The HR manager would sign on your manager behalf so the signature part should be like:
FOR Mr. ABC
[MR. XYZ signature]
MR. XYZ, HR Manager
Note there, the keyword FOR has got importance because it tells honestly that HR manager has signed on the Manager behalf.
