My Long wait for PMP is over, feeling very Happy after clearing it today.
Like to share my approach for PMP
PMP Training:
I took classroom training from Simpli learn attended at Hyderbad India.
Preparation:
Started my preparation for PMP from mid of April but not very serious about it,many comments froms Colgs to go for it or not..
So finally Started serious preparation from June tried to read PMBOK felt very difficult to read on first go,so started with Rita and felt very interesting.
Reading Rita certainly improved my knowledge on mangement side.
Once completed Reading Rita and Head First(very useful to understand the concepts at early stage),started reading PMBOK seriously.
One should consider PMBOK as like a bible for the PMP exam, the more you read it more confidence it will give you for the exam.
You can expect a question from any single line of PMBOK.
Registration:
After a good preparation applied for PMP registation in mid of September again my luck my application was audited.
Don't get depresses or demotivated if your application is audited it is very rapid and fast ,i have cleared it in less than 10 days(don't waste your time here like me :-))
Finally last 20 days i have given full commitment to clear the exam at any cost, given alot's of pain to my family memebers(finally they are happy more than me)
MOCKS:
Given alots of MOCKS
Simpli learn(1,2,3,4,5)(score was in the range of 75-80)
PM Study Paid( 2,3)(82%,83%)
Head First (83%)
PMP 4sure(74%)
PM Study Free1(76.7% given 4 days before the exam)
Please give more mocks to loose exam fear and to check your timing, areas need to improve.
Exam:
Stopped reading from 2 days before the exam(suggest you be relaxed before the exam).
Exam screen look and feel is more or less like PM study one.
I would say that the exam questions are perfectly balanced with easy, hard, average.
Many Mathematcal questions ( was very happy to see those) on CPI,SPI(more than 6)TCPI(1),Make or Buy(1),N/w diagrams(5).
Good number of questions on Quality charts.
Alot's of questions related to charter(testing your knowledge on Project Charter),2 questions related to motivation theory.
Completed my first round of 200 questions in 2:15 minutes tooka break for fresh thoughts and again started after 5 minutes and was looking at the marked questions for 30 mintutes.
Was feeling very difficult to sit for 4 hours so clicked END exam 40 mints(suggest you to sit 4 hours for a better result).
Finally the golden words appeared in front of me with Congratulation on screen with 3 Pnd 2MP
And now looking forward to grow mangement side with a great confidence.
Final suggestion:
Don't drag your preparation for a long while.
Frankly speaking one can successfully clear it with 45-60 days of preparation.
I heard from somebody, PMI mostly place the most tricky/difficults questions in first 40 - 50 questions, after these 40 - 50 questions, the remaining questions are quite straightforward and not so complicated. Is this correct??
In real PMP exam you will find questions with more clarity,be relaxed and worry much about the exam,
You will feel the same exp through out the exam, you will find stright forward questions in a sequence after every 30-40 questions..
Provided you just based on my experience..be cool dnt get panic by seeing tough questions,PMP is not a difficult exam you can clear it with a gud preparation of 30-40 days..
Great... Congratutlations. I agree, one should not drag PMP prep for long time. i know many people who have not been able to give the exam, since they lost interest , because they started prep 1 year back and did not make good progress ...
Congratulation, im going for the exam on 13/11/2012, I have done the online course from Simplearn with the 5 mock exams, is that enough or shall I search another exams sources?

Hi Friend,
Congrats about your success!!
but may i ask about the pattern of PMP exam??
I heard from somebody, PMI mostly place the most tricky/difficults questions in first 40 - 50 questions, after these 40 - 50 questions, the remaining questions are quite straightforward and not so complicated. Is this correct??
