Submitted by Ahmedyoussef89 on Fri, 11/18/2011 - 14:48
Good Afternoon,
I started to study for the PMP, by reading in the PMbook and Rita in Parallel, but I found it time consuming.
is it going to worth this time? or shall I change my technique? which book shall i read first?
Thanks in advance for the support,
I really like the site , and I am sure it will help me :)
Kind Regard
Joe

Basically, you need to ask
Basically, you need to ask yourself if you are ready to invest the time...
On a high level, this is what I did when I prepared for my exam.
1- Read PMBOK briefly
2- Read Rita M. in depth
3- Read PMBOK in depth
4- Relate PMBOK concepts to Rita's explanations/theories
5- Perform simulation test 1 then;
6- Evaluate, analyse, refer back to theory and recap
7- Perform the above two steps at least 3 - 4 times or 1500 questions
8- If you are averaging 75% from reputable sources, i.e. PM Study, PMZILLA, Rita, etc then you should be fine
Hope this helps, keep us posted.

Exam is quiz base, so I would
Exam is quiz base, so I would say read a chapter and goes through quiz from all books you can find.
Answering question fast will help you to get in to rhythm.
All the best.
