formal acceptance from customer

If project terminates,do we need formal acceptance from customer(of the last deliverable) otr we can just close the project?

On reading the below lines, its clear that we need to get the formal acceptance fromt he customer for all the deliverables upto that part and the follow the procedure to transfer them to the appropriate stakeholders. Ref. PMBOK page 102.

"If the project was terminated prior to completion, the formal documentation indicates why the project was terminated and formalizes the procedures for the transfer of the finished and unfinished deliverables of the cancelled project to others."

Basically termination of contract is generally a special case which can happen by mutual agreement, from the default of one party or for the convinience of buyer.

In all these cases, Buyer or Customer are put into the loop.  Buyer / contractor has the legitimate right to terminate the contract.  Therefore Buyer is given the choice to respect the closure.

But the next question in my mind, in eventuality of disagreement, seller will not yield to the pressures of buyer and forcefully withdraw from the contract and goes into ADR, in that context, it will be the legal court who would be right.

Therefore, answers to the question should decide the answer., pl clarify

Sorry Bhavesh, I'm unable to understand your question. The explanation given to the main question was for the termination of a project (for whatever reason it may be). Are you asking anything particularly about contract closure?
