Eligibility period

"If your eligibility period expires without you passing the examination, you must reapply for the
credential."
- PMP Handbook Pg.#31

Need more clarification on this.

Unfortunately my eligibility period is about to expire, and I didn't pass the examination yet.

1. Reapplying will include all the steps executed earlier?

2. Earning contact hours?

3. What about project management hours?

Thanks!

I just had the same happen to me. I had an illness and was not prepared but took the test anyway since it was paid for. I failed. My eligibility ran out the next day. Within 2 days I received a notice email stateing that my eligibility had expired. On the site it had my old application in pdf format. If I were you i would download that now to assist you in filling out a new one. Once my time expired I started a new application. Everything was still on my new application form my old one except for the pmp course i took and my experiecne. you sill just need to use the old application you downloaded and fill in the experience again. In may case I had some additional items to add form the past year. I submitted my new application. I am now waiting for the reply to see if I will be audited or I will start my new year of eligibility. you basically start over and the process is the same. The bad thing is that you will need to pay again. Also the retest in my cse is not acually a retest. Since my eligibilty ran out it is the same price as the original. hope that helps.

Thank you!! You are correct!!

After I read your comments, I thought of checking with PMI to be doubly sure. So mailed them first, and later called them.

While I am still waiting for the mail reply, here is what I came to know from the PMI Executive -

1. You can reapply for the exam after the eligibility expires, and get one year period to appear again.

2. You can still use your earlier PM experience for filling the application + you can add more if you wish

3. You can still use your contact hours, no need to again go through the training

4. You can appear for PMBOK 4 before 31 July, 2013, and later than PMBOK 5

5. The bad thing as you mentioned - you have to shell $405 (PMI Member)

Most Important

1. If you already taken the exam, and did not pass for the 1st 2nd or 3rd time you have 2 attempts, 1 attempt, 0 attempt, and wait for whole one year.

2. If for any reason your eligibility expires, and you couldn't appear for the exam. You can reapply again with $405 (PMI Member), get 1 year eligibility period to write exam, and have 3 attempts.

Hope this is useful to many.

I fully understand you , in my case  my eligibility will be expired soon and I have not neither schedule nor make any payment fee for the exam. what should I do if I want to get another one-year eligibility for the exam, can I re-apply again or PMI will not re-assess my case?

only point 3 will remain valid for reapplying.

Point 2 reg 35 contact hrs should also remain valid, right? It does not depend on PMBOK edition or have any expiration date.

I just went through the same thing ans as I described in a previous post points 2 and 3 will still be valid. You will just have to redo point 1.

PM certification is the most popular course among professionals. And on your legitimate-writing-services.blogspot.com/2016/09/writemypapers-org-review.html website, I found amazing informative content for the preparation of the PM certification examination. One of my friends was asking for such examination website like yours I would defiantly recommend to her.

You'll have to apply again if the eligibilty has expired.  You can apply using the same information as in your current application including the 35 contact hour details and your projects. Incase you have already paid the fees, you can contact PMI's customer service for a refund.
