Confused on PMP Exam Changes !

Dear folks,

I plan to take PMP exam by end of 2011. I heard that PMP exam is going to change after Aug 31. I am appearing for PMP training next week at for 35PDUs.

Is it advisable to wait and take training after  few months which will give time for such institutes to revise their training materials inaccordance with PMP new format?

What about the books like Rita , Head first which are avaliable in market right now? Are they revised according to the new format?

I cannot take exam before Aug 31st.

Please advise.

Tom,

If you are planning to take the exam after August 31st, then you definitely want to make sure that all your study materials are updated for the 2011 PMP Exam changes. (We've just completed the update of 4 out of 5 products and our simulator will be updated in 2 weeks.)

My recommendation: Contact your training provider and ask them if this course is already updated for the new exam. If they don't give you a clear and straightforward "Yes!", then you should reschedule.

As far as the books go: most authors are updating their books but it takes time for these new versions to show up in the bookstores. I've seen Rita's and Heldman's but my favorite from Diane Altwies is not yet in the stores.
