Communication channels - should the PM be counted in or not?
When I calculate the number of communication channels (using formula [n * (n-1) / 2], you need number of the team members as input for the formula (n). I'm not sure whether I should count in also PM or not.
Example (made up question):
You are PM of the project with 6 persons. You have been added two additional resources... How much did communication channels increase...?
Now, should I:
A) calculate that the team has 6 team members + PM = 7 people (=n) and has increased from 7 to 9 persons (6 team members + PM + 2 new resources)
OR
B) calculate that initial team has 6 members (=n) and after 2 additonal resources it has 8 members (=n)?
I'm confused, since I found different explanation in test questions, that I used.
Tnx for help.

You should consider PM also
calculate that the team has 6 team members + PM = 7 people (=n) and has increased from 7 to 9 persons (6 team members + PM + 2 new resources)
So, the increase in channels by 9.
