Cleared PMP

Hey Guys today I passed my PMP exam with the help of this forum and many other resources.  I orginally started studying for the PMP back in July and attended a bootcamp that provided me with some helpful stragtegies in passing the PMP exam.  Although I didn't rely solely on the bootcamp, I also added additional reading material, various PMP prep exams (Oliver, PMStudy, Simplilearn & PreparePM, PMchamp).

I noticed a lot of you guys use Rita's book in your preparation, I never used one, but I would highly recommend some highly regarded studying material to help with putting things in perspective.

What I did:

Attended a 4-day bootcamp - PMStudy - this helped me to understand the concepts & gain my educational hours
Read the PMBOK 5th edition 3 times - word for word (two knowledge area a day)
Supplimental Reading Material - PM Study Workbooks, & Edwel
Countless exam questions - if I had to guess I took over 1500 questions (three 200 question simulated exams included) Oliver 175 questions & 75 questions bank along with some others.

My advice:

Depending on the length of time ( 2, 3 months) you plan to sit for the exam adjust your study time accordingly.  I studied for about 3 to 4 months with about an average of 3 hours a day excluding the weekends.

Take a lot of prep exams, and make sure you understand the concepts behind the process and knowledge areas.

Thanks again to all of you who contribute to this forum you can pat yourselves on the back because you had a stake in my sucess today!

 Regards,
Calvin
