CAPM vs PMP Exams

well I have tried to pass the PMP three times and cannot pass the test. my instructor suggested that I go for the CAPM. She said it was more about the theory than the situational questions. Has anyone taken both? I also hear that the CAPM might become obsolete- how true is that?
I would like to go for the CAPM as soon as possible since I have everything fresh in my mind.

i only had taken the pmp
i only had taken the pmp exam. the pmp is a certificate that expires every three years and you can maintain it with the professional development but the capm expires every five years and you should take the test every five years to renew the certificate.
as for the passing score, the pmp has higher mark than the capm.
