bipert float

Hey Guys,

I have recently seen this question on a test where they show a PDM and ask you to tell which acitivity has a bipert float.

Any idea what that is?

Thanks

I've seen this questions alreadyUndecided... After it I've tried to find on the internet what could be it.... I've found only one document regarding it: there was written, that bipert is a kind of boolean PERT: true/false:  will happen or won't that event.

"An example of modeling a parallel wave equation algorithm using GERT networks described in SLAM can be found in [

Sinz 93] In [Cuba 91] a bilogic extension of PERT networks (called BIPERT) is proposed as a suitable model for parallel programs.
In a BIPERT network, ingoing and outgoing links may either be inclusive
(IN) or exclusive (EX) thus allowing to represent amongst parallelism
also conditional branches and ....

"

Somebody wrote on the net: that is an another error (typo) in the question pool....

see this: http://pmpbest1.blogspot.com/2008/04/pmpbest-yahoo-group-re-float-questi...

So if you see this question again: pick one answer randomly...

Thank you so much for the explanation.

 And a wonderful suggestion Tongue out

Cheers

I attempted my PMP exam on 31st July, and I saw this question.  I was much confused when I saw a network diagram of nearly 25 activities asking to identify a Bipert activity ! :P

The explaination given by you seems to correct since, I too saw just one activity with links on both directions.  So I selected that option.

Now I think, I've selected the right option !! And this has contributed towards my clearing the exam.

Thanks for the explaination.Smile

Congratulations and Welcome aboard...

I am still confused...pick answer randomly?...please explain.

I think it is asked which activities have bipert float or identify the bipert activity?

Thanks,

Picking a random answer means that there is no known way of calculating or finding out a BiPERT activity/node. So you can do:

  1.  Inni-Minni-Miney-Mo;
  2. Rock-Paper-Scissors;
  3. Use a dart-throw (if allowed in examination);
  4. Draw Sticks;
  5. Any other method that is in your culture for acceptable to guess what is unknown.

Hope it helped.
