Attend at least 35 hours of courses in project management// Compulsory???

 Hi

I want to take the PMP exam before the change of curriculum in July 31st, 2013. I have registered in PMI. I am in the process of registering for the exam. I found somewhere that one needs to attend at least 35 hours of courses in project management. My question is: Is it compulsory??? Is there a way i can lie about this??? How is PMP exam audit process???

I know that there are alot of PMP certified contributors to this forum. It is logical that we all have to be honest and loyal to the organisation. But I will appreciate if i can get honest responses. Thanks

Here's a brutally honest answer: If you are considering lying on your PMI application, please do the project management profession a favor and pursue another career.
