What is the correct answer? Procurement

From the seller's perspective, what is the status of the project when the project team has completed all work specified in in the procurement statement of work and the final deliverable has been sent to the customer?

A - The project is completed

B - The project is in Verify Scope

C - The project is in the Closing Process

D - The project is at the end of Project Executing

For the exam, right answer is C. There is a bit confusing for me, because in PMBOK "Verify Scope is the process of formalizing acceptance of the completed porovect deliverables", and "Closing Process Group also talk about obtain acceptance by the cuspter of spsonsor". Since the question says the the seller just sent the product, I put B, what is seems is wrong ... Any thought? Cheers.

 yes you are right.

Since the question says the the seller just sent the product, I put B, --it must right

it is vital confusing point:

what I understand

in verify scope ====     deliverables are verified for acceptance

in close procurement ==involves verification that work and deliverables has been accepted./ or what at last                                                      finalised.

Yes B seems correct.

pls wha is d source and any official explanations?

I think:-

  • Verify Scope is not a onetime activity and it is more of an iterative process.

  • A particular project can have any number of deliverables.

  • So, instead of waiting till the completion of all the deliverables and then going for scope verification, Project Manager follows an iterative approach.

  • As soon as a particular deliverable (or a batch of deliverables) is completed and validated (during Quality Control process), Project Manager can start with its scope verification.

  • Once all the work related to the Procurement SOW is completed and validated, Project Manager can start with the Procurement Closure process.

Now, in above question, there are 2 main points to notice:-

·         Project Team has completed all the work specified in Procurement SOW...So, all the deliverables have been completed as well as validated.

·         Final Deliverable

These 2 points make me feel that the scope verification is done and team can start with procurement closure. So, the answer is C and not B.

I agree with Hemant Tandon's explaination.

Please see the difference between Verify Scope and the Close Project or Phase:

Verify Scope: Results in formal acceptance by the customer of interim deliverables

Close Project or Phase: is to get the the final acceptance or sign-off for the project or phase as a whole.

Project Team has completed all the work specified in Procurement SOW...So, all the phase deliverables or interim deliverables have been completed as well as validated already. So it cannot be Answer B.

The correct answer is C

Thanks

Jai

Since Verify scope is an continous process... and the question give an indication of final clsoing and by that time it is expected to have all scope verified

For the perfect answer from these four options I have to think about the first one is good for the telling to somebody. If interest about the project is about to scope then for the essay writing uk the fourth part of the answer will more better.
