sanskrit: Passed CSP Exam similar to PMI-ACP

First of all, I know this forum is specific to PMI sponsored certification; I apologize if this post is out of place. The reason I am posting this here is , as I saw some posts discussing CSM and CSP related certification for project managers.

I passed CSP (Certified Scrum Professional) exam today.

Question: Why did I go for CSP Certification?

Answer:  There were two reasons for me to go for this CSP

  • 1.

While reading about PMI-ACP exams on linkdin, I noticed lot people pointed ot that the exam course for both CSP and PMI-ACP are quite similar i.e. there is quite a lot overlap.

  • 2.

As I already had CSM certification from 2011, which was due to expire later this year AND by clearing for CSP it automatically renews you CSM certification. So I thought why not give CSP try

Question: Will I have gone for CSP (Certified Scrum Professional) Certification own its own, if I was not preparing for PMI-ACP?

Answer: NO; I would not have gone for CSP if I was not preparing for PMI-ACP

Question: What’s Value, Benefit or Advantage of CSP Certification?

Answer: Probably NOT or I don’t know. Only thing is that Agile is here to stay as per recent PMI magazine article, by the end of year 2013 more than 80% IT organization and projects will be using some for Agile methodologies. I don’t want to give long agile lecture otherwise so called founders and writers of Agile like Mr. Kent Beck, Mr. Ken Schwaber, Mr. Jeff Sutherland, Mr.  Alistair Cockburn , Mr. Mike Cohn will be out of job J

Question: Any harm in giving the exam?

Answer: NO, If you employer is paying for the exam fee J

Question: Difficulty level of CSP Exam in comparison to PMI-ACP Exam:

Answer: It’s slightly tougher than PMI-ACP exam

This is a valuable post sanskrit. Comparison of CSP with ACP and your views are helpful.  I agree Agile will be adopted more and more going forward. So Agile certifications will be in demand.

Congrats sanskrit. You seem to be on a roll.
