Project and Product

Which of the following statements about products and projects is true?

  1. Adding new functionality to an existing product cannot be considered as a project.

  2. A product life cycle is usually contained within a project life cycle.

  3. One product may have many projects associated with it.

  4. The product life cycle usually consists of non-sequential phases whereas the project life cycle consists of sequential phases

 B

One product (Generally Sequential life cycle)

--> May contain one to many projects within

--> Each project may contain one to many phases

--> Each phase must have 5 process groups in the order (I P E MC C)

but with tailored processes and phase relationships (Sequential,

                                                     Overlapping, Iterative)

[Project phases are not Process groups]

Hope you will clear any Q twisted in this area. :)

Nice Geethika, thank you.

As each stage of product life cycle would be considered as a Phase and within that we can have project lifecycle and product lifecycle goes in sequence.
