I disagree

A manager has responsibility of a project that has a support of senior manager. From the beginning, you have disagreed with the manager as to how the project should proceed and what the deliverables should be. You and she have disagreed over many issues in the past. Your department has been tasked with providing some key work packages for the project. What should you do?
a) Provide the manager with what she needs
b) Inform your manager of your concerns to get support
c) Sit down with the manager at the beginning of the project, attempt to describe why you oppose to the project and discover a way to the problem.
d) Ask to be removed from the project

What do you guys think?

should be C in my opinion.

I remember this question is from Rita's PMP exam simulator. Even I disagree that the correct answer is A.

According to me it is C because there is not much information given in the question as explained in the description of the answer in simulator.

I was able to narrow down the correct choice to A or B.

I rejected D as it is totally wrong.

I rejected C as there is almost a habit of disagreement between the project manager and you (or I).  If PM (who is a female in Rita's books) did not listen to you (or I) in the past. Why will she listen to you now ? And, you (or I) are the 'perfect' managers with a thorough understanding of the PMI starndards for project management. If we were perfect, we should have implemented the choice C in the very beginning - the very first time the disagreement occured....

I was confused whether i should select A or B.

The question statement does not say anywhere that you are having the difference of opinion on the Work-Package assigned to you. It only says that you had disagreement with her in the past. But, you do not have disagreement on this key work package assigned to your department.

Therefore, A should be the right answer...

And, yet, i selected B. ......Damn it...

Rita's trick questions have a theme on them. Once you solve 4 or 5 chapter-end questions in the Rita's book, you will start to catch that theme.

My only worry is that what if the actual exam questions do not have the same theme what Rita entertains...

Answer is A:

1.  here you are not a incharge of the Project,  The manager has whole responsibility of the project.  Its ia functional organization.

You acting like a Project Co-ordinator/Expediter.

2.  The problem does't say any conflicts on present work packages.  So, no conflicts.

3.  the answer is A.
