it seems like its taking forever for for PMI to update the Credential Registry after I passed the PMP.

Certification registry is auto linked to PMI certified person's profile.
Status is auto reflected as per the certification current status.
Even City and Country auto changes if certification holder changes it in his profile.
Nobody update is manually.
