Test sites

hI ! Please, i scheduled my test to 24 march and i would like you to know what site do you think its the best one to make simulated tests ? Which one do you think its most likely the same the real the test ? I intend to pay for it, because i already did the ones that are free.

Some people here say very well on oPMStudy. What would you recomend me ?

 thanks a lot !

alex

I just read your post and realized today is the 24th! How did it go?

I hope you passed!

Good luck.

Lauri

Hi Lauri ! i postponed the test to April. did not feel confident to make it.

finally i bought some tests on pmstudy (4 tests for $ 50) and made about 75 % in each of them. do not know  if this is ok to go for the test. what do you think ?

 thanks alex

Gosh...I'm in the same boat. I just purshased Andy's book yesterday since they only book I had read was the PMBok 4th edition. After failing my test I realized I neee another form of information since I'm not really getting into that book.

If you are scoring 75 - 80% I think you are in the right track!

I am also considering going to boot camp since I'm they type of person that learns way more by iteracting and discussing issues with other people rather than just reading a book on my own ;-) I'm just trying to get my employer pay for it but its about $2500-$3500 so I'm not sure if they'll approve.

So you paid $50. for 4 test? Do you just download them? How does that work? I don't know if I should do that or purshase the podcast that everyone keeps on talking about. After all, I commute about 3 hours a day so it might be helpful for me.

I just can't keep on spending all this money on everything...I have to make a decision on what to purshase ;-)

I think you are in the right track...keep it up.

Hi Lauri,

My suggestion to you is: Take one step at a time.  Do you have time for so many things at a time? You already have purchased Andy Crowe's book.  Since you have a good 3 hour commuting, go for podcast.  Don't rush for Boot camp now.  First use the podcast and as soon as you cover a portion of it listening, use Andy Crowe's book to answer Qs related to that portion as a checklist how much you understood.  If the gap is too much, listen to one more time.  Repetition is the Mantra for learning and retaining. When you exhaust these 2 resources, come back to PMBOK4.  Go to the glossary portion.  From A to Z  can you explain to yourself what each term means, why it means, can you chronologically arrange each process, able to write down key inputs, TTs and outputs and explain yourself why those are needed and why the chronological order is important.  At that time decide for Boot Camp if your employer does not pay.  In my opinion Boot Camp will be cramped- lot of material covered in 4-5 days.  Throughout the process, you have this Forum where people can provide inputs, suggestions, clarifications to your posts.

Best wishes,

Chandra

I am just too overwhelm with everything. The problem is that I really don't have a lot of time since I have a family, work full time and commute over 3 hours a day.

Is too much for me. I usually study during my lunch time and every second I can get...its hard to balance at times. That's why I need to get this over with.

I will read Andy's book and I'll plan to purchase the podcast and focus on those 2 in addition to the pmpbook. I'll take it easy because I can easily get confused with too much information.

Thanks for your input ;-)

Dear,

You can utilize your commuting time very well with PMPrepCast.

Means you are going to study minimum of 3 hrs a day without any disturbance.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,

CHOWDARY

Alex, i see you purchased PM study 4 tests, are they online based simulated tests or you download those tests to your machine?

Thanks,

Raj

Raj. they are online tests. i am thinking in buy bootcamp now. what do you think about pmstudy and bootcamp ? do you think scoring 75 % in pmstudy is ok ?

thanks

alex

Alex,

It is not about scoring 75%...

How good are you with initiate, plan, exec, monitor & closing...?

If you can make 75% -  80% in each process group then you are ready.

My name is Azad and I am from Sri Lanka. I sat for the paper-based (PMP) exam on 6 March and passed with the five 'moderately proficient' and one 'proficient' grade (for closing). Results was released on 16 March. One week before the exam, I bought PMStudy's four exam bundle for $50 (I used the their free exam in early February). Without exagetationg and in MY opinion, PMStudy is the one that comes closest to the real exam. PMStudy questions look simple but there are the one's that deceive you. I did questions from Oliver L, VOIGHT, mypmp.ie, simplilearn.com (very poor interface and many grammar mistakes) and HeadFirst. But nothing compares to PMStudy. If you score about 80% in the PMStudy tests, then you are ready to sit for the final exam.

I'll post my LLs next week. Good luck.

Congratulations!

You got porficient in closing! That's one of my weakness (closing)

 ;-)

I'll be looking forward reading your LL's!
