PMP recertification - Have earned my PDUs

I completed my PMP in 2011 and my cycle dates are between 30/8/2011 and 29/8/2014.

Today I have collected the required 60 PDUs for recertification .

I have following queries before I submit the recertification :

  • The recertification fee for PMI non members is $150 . Is there any benefit if I renew my membership and make the payments . I mean if anyone can let me know what is the fee PMI member needs to pay for certification ?
  • If I recertify now , will my cycle start from today or from the date when I complete my current cycle ?
  • If I dont recertify now , how long are the current PDUs valid for ?

If anyone has answers to these , thanks to answer at the earliest

After 29/8/2014 your PMP certification will be suspended for 1 year. You have time until 2015 to renew. There is no hurry, you can wait till your last day to renew. During suspension period you are not allowed to claim that you are a PMP. In your business cards, signatures etc, you should remove PMP, until you pay the recertification fees.


Sometimes for PMI members in Asia there is a discount for renewal
