Passed PMP Exam - 19th March 2015

Dear all

I m very happy to inform u all that I have passed PMP exam today.

I have taken PMP training before 2 year however i have started preparation sincerely since last 3 months only when I had pressure from my company for growth and promotion.

I was continuously watching PMZILLA from past few months, it proved very useful and provided many good things for PMP preparation .
Major question were scenario based so try to focus on identifying what is actually being asked since question contain too much useless information and are long for nothing except to confuse you. Many choices are confusing also.

Try to solve as many question as possible on procurements and change management that will help u in exam. My advice is, first of all have study plan with keeping exam date in mind, stay focused on it and track the progress my taking mock tests. Follow only one or two reference book, and of course PMBOK should be one of those. In my final exam, I got many questions on formulas 4 on communication channel, 5-6 on EVM, , 2 on PERT and some 3-4 on simple calculation. There were few on ITTO but tricky one, questions were built around scenarios. Got many questions on Change Management, Risk & Quality, which were very similar with real scenario.

I have taken lists of full length test:
PM FASTRACK
SUPER PMP RITA
PM STUDY
Izenbridge free 115
PMZEST all tests
Head first
Simplilearn
Oliver 175
Oliver 75

My score was ranging in between 62% to 75% in these test. Among all test super PMP and PMZEST were tougher than the PMP exam but was of most help.

I will keep contributing in the post, Anybody needs any help/guidance, feel free to reach me here.

! All the best !

Thanks

Hi

Congrazt on your success.

My exam is scheduled on 5th april, I am not left with enough time. I have already attempted PMstudty (200 q) =69% and Oliver (75Q)=59%.

Any good sites can you recommend to attemp mock test?

Did you just take those 2 tests? If, yes, please take more in the remaining days. Pmstudy is good but on little easier side and hence you should target around 75% in it. Oliver is tough and score around 60-62% is fine. I found Pmzest very good and it’s on slight tough side, so you can target to secure 60-65% in this test. Rita Fast Track is also good but on slight tougher side and also its cost is high. I also found Izenbridge good for practice and you can even try this. Please see my LL posted above, it will give the list of all tests I have attempted and the marks I could secure in them.

Thanks

Dear askb

I have shared my mock tests score that i took. My result in PMP exam was Proficient in execution and moderately proficient in all others. About 40% of questions were in one line and they had choice of IITO in few words. Other 60% were situational questions in 2 to 5 lines with choice also having situation. I advise you to take lots of practice tests having situation.

Thanks

Many thanks again for your kind response. How was the experience with the test center? Btw which test center did you give the exam ? I belive for people who are taking the exam in the morning 8am are being requested to be present in the center 1 hour before the exam? It's a two hour drive for me.

Is it required to go through the tutorial or can we use the couple time for creating the brain dump?

Your suggestions ons would be appreciated.

Hi Askb

I gave my exam in Kolkata and arrived about 2 hours before my scheduled time in afternoon. I guess, the exam slot is not that strict for time since they allowed me to start the exam an hour before. The exam hall is like big cyber café where you will see 20-30 computers put in long rows. You will see people giving other exams (like GRE etc) in the same hall. There is silence and hence the atmosphere is good. They will give you few papers, pencil and 15 minutes to relax and view the PMP exam tutorial which you can skip and do whatever you want on the paper you want. No one stands in front of you, so you have full freedom to use the paper and pencil.

Let me know if you have further questions, i will be happy to help.

Thanks

You can try PMZEST, PMSTUDY and RITA FS. These stand the best as per my experience.
