Hi SS,

The recent podcast questions says, ' You have just been assigned as the project manager for a new construction project. The Project Charter has been handed over to you by your sponsor authorizing you as the project manager. You have performed the Stakeholder Analysis process and documented the information in the Stakeholder Register. Which of the following processes should be performed next?

As per him the answer should be Create WBS and he gives the hint to follow the PMBOK Guide recommended sequence.

My question SS is, should it not be collect requirements if we follow the PMBOK recommended sequence. The option he gives has no collect requirements BTW.

Warmly, SS...

The question is absolutely right and typical PMP type i.e. “Which of the following processes should be performed next?”

I have said various time in this forum…always see the choice as your options, its called options. The problem is you are seeing the PMBOK sequence. Come out of it.

Out of the given choice, it would be WBS i.e. because that’s the next one (OUT OF THE GIVEN CHOICES)

The question should be, is the answer explanation given (or as said by you) is right?….here we have two answers:
Yes – Out of the given choice
No – As per PMBOK Sequence

I hope this helps, but in the PMP exam, the WBS option would be the right one.

Won't you define the activities before you create WBS? I would think B is the right option.

Why and how would you define activities before creating WBS? Here is the sequence PMBOK defines:

5.1 Collect Requirements
5.2 Define Scope
5.3 Create WBS
6.1 Define Activities
6.2 Sequence Activities

A friendly advice – If you are a PMP aspirant and such straight IITO is not in your memory pleases read and mug them up (PMBOK p 43). Some people even take this page in toilet during final days of PMP exam. By just memorizing this page, you will be able to answer about 30 PMP questions. Just one page, and 30 PMP questions….is it not a million dollar deal?

You're right, my bad. I confused it with something else. WBS is the correct choice.

Is PMPODCAST given this answer.

q is asking sequence

create wbs in my view comes after define scope and define scope comes after collect req and collect req is a process  depends on communication and once you have prepared stakeholder register how you can jump to wbs while plan communication is a option here.

kk one sad news on monday i have lost my 1st opp to be pmp because of speed problem and this is vital drawback that could not be overcomed by any kind of prepration, though I decided to be attached with this challenging opp.

lots of candidates has gone through this exam, but such kind of cause may be there no one might report it.

I am an unique example.

the day first, I entered to pmzilla I put my problem, but everybody was devastated in finding any solution.

What I  guess that I can read speedy but inner mind does not allow to analyse or interprate or to record as memory.

I counsulted to doctor before 3-4 days,.

His suggetions was fantastic:

He said be stress free on exam day. take 10hrs sleep.take light meal.

he suggest me that in medical exams , we have to answer 300 q in 2:30 hrs, while you are answering only 200 q in 4 hrs. It is quite good part.

he added your mind is not at rest. concentration is weak. Your slow analysing the reason that you have high IQ but low energy feed to brain.

And rest is only solution.

but on exam night I could not sleep, not due to tension but by my nature.

Regards

I am very sad to hear that. Wish you best of luck in next attempt.

Oh God.... WTF....

I can NOT believe this. What grades then you got respected Pawarji Sir? And when are you planning for the second attempt. Oh God. It will take immense time before the reality sinks in :( :( :(

Warmly, KK...
