CRACK "THE PMP EXAM" IN 15 DAYS , Hooray!
This is my first post on the other side of the Forum (Am an avid reader of all posts and was just craving to write this one )
Ok So .... PASSED PMP ON 8 JUL 2014 ... RELIEVED ...!
Started when I was in EU this new year for celebrations and thought to apply For this esteemed certification (great ideas come at great places :))
Am a PM at a leading FMCG firm in India since 4+ years now .
So the application process...
Intense one in itself - Took almost 2 days to get is approved (guys use the best projects u have and the summary .. the best part .. use all PMI terms with the work u did and squeeze it in .. ) , I was luckily not audited !
Scheduled my exam and then was lost in InternationaL projects and WORK AND WORK ..
REAL PREP STARTED 15 DAYS BACK ..
READ PMBOK .. SLEPT ON IT .. TRIED AGAIN .. SLEPT AGAIN .. thought to change strategy ..
Got hold of RITA's prep book(one awesome info bank man ..coolness in the book to its height .. extreme easy to grasp)
Yes it was a good read .. (For eg : DEF IN PMBOK FOR RISK APPETITE is somewhat funny , do get its correct meaning from RITA )
Ok so back to the process .. RITA FINISHED IN 4 DAYS , A quick read .. Then mustered up courage to go through PMBOK .. THIS IS A very detailed info bank where most of the questions and imp points are hidden in those huge passages u seem to over look ! ...Took A BIG MAGNIFYING GLASS , A COOL COLOURED PEN AND voila highlighted all those (or most of em )
TOOK 4 more days .. admist all the project work (mfg sector :))
So now I had some base in my mind .. Now decided to merge BOTH RITA AND PMBOK SIDE BY SIDE TO STUDY AND MAKE NOTES CHAPTER WISE -
BAZINGAaaa .... THE BEST APPROACH .. KEEP SCANNING BOTH TOGETHER AS U READ AND RITA SURPISES U SO MUCH WITH THE COOLNESS..
4 more days gone and am done with chapter wise notes , imp points and yes a plan in my head ..
Now comes the ITTOS , QUESTIONS AND MOCK ... JUST PRACTICED PRACTICED LIKE ANYTHING LIKE 100 Q PER DAY FOR 2 DAYS .. jotted more points and yes was working well..(lots of free stuff out there on the net .. lotzaaa)
last 2 days more theories & points and questions and mock exams .. DO TRY SITUATIONAL QUESTIONS A LOT ..
THE EXAM WAS AS SURPRISE : MOSTLY SITUATIONAL QUESTIONS , EASY NUMERICALS (LIKE REAL EASY SO MEMORIZE ALL FORMUALAES ) AND TIRING FOR SURE ..
AND AFTER 3 BREAKS IN THE EXAM (U NEED EM .. GOSH THEY WERE REQD. ) AND trying THE SESSIONS ALL THROUGHOUT AND REALLY REVISED ALL MARKED QUESTIONS WELL , THE RESULT FLASHED AND THE RESULT WAS WORTH IT .. !
Situational questions practice hard AS PMI TESTS THESE TOO MUCH
FORMULAS - JUST MEMORIZE ALL AS VERY EASY QUESTIONS ON THEM
USE COMMON PMI SENSE WHILE ANSWERING
BE CONFIDENT !
ALL THE BEST
