Overlapping experience?

 Greetings,

Having already obtained my PMP certification this year, I am now interested in pursuining the ACP and was wondering if anyone knows whether the work experience hours can overlap? For example, if I claimed 100 hours of project planning in my PMP application can I claim similar for the Agile application? Basically, my company currently follows a hybrid methodology where the requirements stage is iterative and follows many of the scrum philosophic ideals. Does the PMI expect the hours for the either application to be mutually exclusive?

Thanks, Ron.

Good questions. The certifications are different and you can claim the same hours for Agile also. PMI does not say anywhere that ACP certification experience has to be non-overlapping.

Even Logically PMP is a generic certification and ACP is more specialized for Agile, hence Agile PM working for 4500 hours would obviously have both Agile and PM experience.

p44/pdf46 of handbook clarifies all about.

not only same pdus utilized for a set of certifications, even fee relaxation is also there
