Failed twice and dreading to appear the third time

Failed twice and dreading to appear the third time -

Test one (2 MP and 3 NP) - Planning - Closing

Test two (3MP and 2 NP) - Initiating, Planning and Closing

Read Rita once and skimmed through the PMBOK 4th edi (total study duration 22 Days - average 3 hours per day) repeated the same routine for the second test and added around 400 test questions this time (Score - 70%)

I need to get certified and will not give up now, I paid for the 3rd test- however im dreading to pick a date. Downloaded the PMBOK 5th edition and dont show if i should start reading the 5th edition and appear after the 31st of July or do another round of 4th edition .... read Rita... practice around 1000 - 1500 test questions and apear before the 31th of July.

I know my preperation is weak .. and have serious issues with focusing on the book - and probably even during the 4 hour exam - leaving no review time.

Can anybody help me construct an efficient study plan.. and guide me with appearing for 4th or the 5th edition.

In my personal opinion, I think you should take the exam before July 31st. Otherwise, I'd say take the PMBOK5 version only when you're absolutely ready. As for a study plan:

I have a set of notes that could potentially help. They basically highlight all of the major topics that may appear on the exam. However, it is only effective if you have a great understanding of the material. I glanced at the PMBOK5 and in order for you to get adjusted to the new processes, it would take an in-depth review so you would need to buy all new reference material and start over from scratch.

Thanks, looks like the window to apply for the test before 31st is now closed...

I have the 5th edition PMBOK and did have a glance at it... feel its more organized.. was planning to read the book and get a more understanding of the concept through Rita's book.

Please share your notes - techop2002@yahoo.com

I started doing some tests and have completed around 200 questions ... what I started doing is while reviewing the answers i  take a note of areas where I have a GAP and read on that section seperately.

Hi Bhook20,

Could you share me your notes to me as well, my email ID is  itillove@gmail.com

Thanks and Regards, Emma

I've taken it twiced, too, and was unsuccessful in passing. The first time I got Below Proficient in all 5 processes, took it again and the same results.  On mock exams my scores are mid 70s I really don't know whats going on.  My ego is crushed.  I want to take it again before July 31 but kinda of afraid to do so.  And the sad thing is I have a CAPM cert obtained it 4 years ago for grad school.

Sad and really confused

Do you have a place... I have started reading the 5th edition .. honestly feel its much more organized .. however dont have any reference  material ,,.. I i will be refereing to RITA's book ..

I am aiming to reappear by the 7th of August ... please share your plan we can study as a team.

 Hey!

You are so close don't give up-now. i think you should attempt it again before the 31st of July. Unlike myself, I failed all 5 domains both times.  I'm taking it again on 30th.
