10th October, PMP Passed!!! Thank you PM Zilla!!!!!
Thank you PM Zilla, this is the site that really helped me clear the PMP in my first attempt!!!! I passed my PMP on 10th October, I cannot say in words how grateful I am to all those various members of PM Zilla who helped me achieve my dream! I got 3P and 2MP at the end of it all, my Initiation and Closure got me those two MPs, will improve on both.
Unlike many of you, who gave really very detailed LL, I do not have much to write, because my plan was too simple - "Give it a solid hard try the first time, great if I pass, if I do not - I will try to think about it in 2015". This was because my professional work kept me quite occupied all the time, I have been a CAPM from PMI since 2010. I got my first hand experience in managing large projects end to end in 2011, of course due to my manager at that time, a really top grade Program Manager, I am very thankful to her for mentoring me so well. So I studied about two months in total.
I kept repeating the same three steps all the time for last two plus months of study - PMBOK - Rita Mulcahy - PM Zilla. Each cycle ended with free questions and simulated tests to find the gaps in knowledge. I never attempted any of Rita Mulcahy's questions till just the day before D Day. I have lots of respect for Rita, she really has the questions so much close to what PMP actually is, can never thank her enough, may her soul rest in peace!
If you are a PMI Member, I think you will never run out of good free PMP simulation tests, never give up the search, you will get good questions. Lastly, never give up on this site - PM Zilla. Keep coming back here, because the type of help and guidance you get here, you will not find it on any other sites. It covers everything that you need to know, before asking questions in the forum please try to search the site, may be the answer is already there. Most of the times it is!
I was lucky to have been picked up for PMI audit, never think of this as a set back. PMI is doing a great job, it is really worthwhile to spend the time on the audit and clear it! One more important fact, please prepare very well, because PMP is really challenging. Do not under estimate, it is really a great test, you must always be very focused during the four hours. I finished mine with about 15 minutes to spare after going through all flagged questions. But it is only because I kept muttering under my breath "Usain Bolt" all through the test. Do not ignore any gap in knowledge, know the processes very well, practice the mathematical questions again and again, launch yourself well from the start block and GO FOR IT!!! You will surely win!!!!
