This is a forum to discuss the answers to the Lehman free 75 question exam found here
http://www.oliverlehmann.com/pmp-self-test/75-free-questions.htm
Some of the content appears nowhere in the PMBOK so I was looking for some insight to some odd questions.
Please list the question number in the subject when posting.

Question 1: Buffers
Correct answer was Free Buffer, I answered Resource Buffer since I had not seen that term anywhere.
Only Feeding and Project are mentioned in the PMBOK, How is someone supposed to know which of the unknown buffers is the correct answer?

Question 71: 2 projects / diminishing returns
A project sponsor requested earned value data on two concurrent projects from the project managers. Both projects are regarded as equally important and strategically beneficial and have been finished by over 80%. He received the following information:
Project A:
PV: $1,800,000
EV: $2,300,000
AC: $2,100,000
Project B:
PV: $2,000,000
EV: $1,500,000
AC: $1,600,000
The sponsor considers to shift some resources from project A to project B to speed up the second project which is currently behind schedule.
What is the most likely outcome of such a measure?
Changing team assignments during late course of a project typically increases cost efficiency.
According to the law of diminishing returns, the consolidated cost variance of the two projects will decrease.
According to the law of diminishing returns, the consolidated cost variance of the two projects will increase.
answer was C but I cannot find supporting material that states cost variance would DECREASE from changing team assignments, seems counter intuitive at the least.

Question 63: Journey to Abilene
Where in the world does this come from?
63. What is the meaning of a concept called the "Journey to Abilene"?
certainly not in the PMBOK
I feel like I am prepared for the PMP exam but questions like this seem crazy. Are there really questions like this on the test that have no link at all to the PMBOK?

Question 63
apparently any concept in the PM universe is fair game for the PMP exam.
It almost seems like they are trying to guarantee that noone could get a 100%

Question 23: CPFF indirect costs
The company made a decision to book more staff and equipment from their subcontractors in order to adhere to the agreed timeline. The customer agreed to this decision.
What will most likely happen?
Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract = CPFF
if the contractor ran into problems and booked more staff and equipment,
in that case the indirect costs go up and so does the customer's payment for them. (cost plus)
But the key lists D as the correct Answer. can someone explain?

Question 23: CPFF indirect costs answer
this is a trick question about indirect costs.
Indirect costs are not attributable to a project so they are not affected.

Question 22: scope changes
You agree that the requested actions make really sense to the project, but believe that they constitute a major change increasing the project scope. What should you do next?
B) Perform earned value analysis to assess the current status of the project and get all the numbers you need to communicate the case to the change control board which then will have to make the best decision regarding the customer request.
C) Check the contract, the project charter, the scope statement and other documents related to the project and the contract. Implement ADR (alternative dispute resolution) procedures if the conflict cannot be resolved otherwise.
I put B but the key says the answer is C
ADR seems extreme here. Submitting a change to the CCB seems like the best "next" thing to do. Earned value analysis, though, does not seem to belong so maybe that should disqualify B.
Anyway, A CR to the CCB seems like the answer.

Question 19: virtual global team
Your project is executed with a globally spread virtual team. The project progress has been found to be too slow. Which measure is most likely to immediately speed up the project?
A) Technical training for all team members
B) Daily phone conferences and detailed reporting
C) A team meeting at a location convenient to all team members
D) Collocation of team members at a suitable place
The answer was D.
This seems to be quite a break from reality. Collocation is not a feasible option for the typical global virtual team. It is really frustrating when the correct PMP answer is not something that can happen in the real world.
