About 100 question test from PMI for 35$

I remember reading swomewhere that PMI offers a 100 q online test for 35$. They don't disclose the answers but just the %age.

I am not able to find it on PMI, any pointers will be helpful.

Thanks!

Deepti

Hello Deepti:

The questions are not from PMI but Prometric. The cost is 35$ and YOU CAN TAKE THE EXAM ONLY ONCE!

Go to Knowledge assessment on the PMI home page and its going to guide you on its own.

I took the test 3 days back and got 74 out of 100. The glitch is that you can take the exam only ONCE! The right answers would not be given, just the scores Knowledege-area wise.

All the Best!

Vishal

Hi,

Are those questions similar to real exam questions?  Any benefit of taking those or RITA's Fastrack is enough?

Thank you.

hey Thanks for reverting and pointing out the location...

In your opinion is it worth taking that test?

I have an exam scheduled for coming monday and I plan to take this PMI (Prometric) test and another one from PMStudy...

Please share your experience, and also have you already written PMP?

Thanks!!

Deepti

Hi Deepti:

First thing first, all the best for Monday or the D-day :)

Yes, it is worth, hoever, most questions were on the basics of PMBOK. I scored 74, however, I could have scored much higher if the two KAs of PRM and PPM coupled with the I/T&T/Outputs were my high points.

I am scheduled for 08.30.2011 in Calcutta. Lets see how the ball rolls. I am only studying Rita and u-Certify for questions.

All the VERY VERY BEST again lady!

Best,

Vishal

Hi Vishal...

thanks for the wishes...I really need it :(

hmm in that case I will take this test  sometime this week...

All the  very best to you for your test :)

Deepti

Hi Deepti:

Are you a ready-reckoner when it comes to formulas and Input/T&T/Output? The latter especialy gives me heebie-jeebies ab initio.

How about you?

Best,

Vishal

mathematical qs are fine... but T&T is also fine, but inputs do give me tough time...

let's see how it goes...I am scoring around 80-84% in tests like head first, roadmap etc...and i believe they are not tough..so not sure where will I land up with tougher ones...

The resources available on the web are kind of risky to base your exam readiness on. Some questions are easy, some are poorly worded, some are extremely difficult, answers are sometimes incorrect, etc. Rita's PM Fastrack is by far the most comprehensive simulator. It's even and also challenging in all aspects. Next on my hitlist is PMStudy.

I've completed the Rita's Fastrack. I did PMstudy before my last attempt, it's useless.

Can anyone please recommend if I should buy the 100 question from $35? Is it worth it and are they related to real exam questions?

My exam is scheduled next week.

Thank you.

Hi Kan:

Only a PMP certified could guide you on the usefulness of the KA exam conducted by Prometric on PMI website, provided if he/she has taken it.

Why do you say PMStudy is useless, I am being told by many soothsayers that PMStudy is the closest once can get to the real exam? Could you throw little more on this please since I was planning to take one of the test as well.

I have taken the Prometric test and it grills you essentially on the PM intro, Framework et al. This test will let you know of your exact standing with the preparation. There are 100 questions which, sadly but true, you can take only once. Sit with a pen and paper so that you can jot questions on which you are little unsure. However, you could never come to know which questions were right or wrong. I say so because CtrlC+V option does not work with them. I got 74 out of 100.

Best,

Vishal

Hi Vishal,

I took the exam back in April but failed. From my experience real exam questions were not even close the PMStudy's question.

Hi Kan:

Did you decipher the exact reason for you not cracking the exam? Maybe, something like, this particular area needed more stress or something akin?

I am testing Aug 20th and have been scoring about 85 average on the online assessments. Can someone link this I can't find it on the website.

Thank you very much for the help.

I took and failed the PMP last month, but felt I was very close to passing (studied less than 40 hours).  I just took the knowledge assessment from Prometric PMI and I feel it is somewhat equivalent to the easier questions on the PMP exam and a fair representation of what to expect. I scored 77/100 and it took me only 1 Hour to complete. It is worth 35 bucks and if you do not score at least 75 you are not ready for the real PMP. .

No Ethics questions or framework questions were on this practice exam.  I highly reccommend Fast Track and I honestly thought that all of the situational questions were even more difficult than those offereed on the PMPexam.  This time I have studies much harder and focued on my weaknesses and god willing will be a PMP in a weeks time.

Like Rita says "Memorization will not get you there you must understand how all of the process groups work together".

Good luck

I also scored 74 which is very close to yours. I am slated to appear on the 30th.

The only saving grace is that you studied only for 40 hours. However, it is indeed surprising that you could muster 77.

Is there anything specific that you are doing this vis-a-vis last time.

Thanks!

Hey buddy passed the PMP today, and it was more difficult than the first time because I actually understood the questions.  Fast Track has the best questions that simulate the exam.

I used the following:

1) Ritas book read once all the way through, then covered the difficult knowledge areas again. 100Hrs of Study

2) PM Prepcast, not all of the episodes but most.

3) Practice exams Fast track, PM Perfect Eams (easy but good). PMI exam as mentioned in this thread.

Averaged 75-85 on all of these tests as of yesterday.

Read the questions carefully you know what you doing and go with your gut and you will do just fine!!

GOOD LUCK!!!
