1 Below Proficent and 4 Moderately proficent -Could not clear the exam

 Hi,

Attempted the exam today and  got the subject mentioned result..with a "Fail" . Did not feel like getting up from the seat as I thought I had spent enough amout of time for the preparation and scoring quite OK if not excellent in the practice exams.

Over the next few days I will spend my time analyzing what went wrong, and what I could have done better, The real exam was much tougher than the practice exams and I had to rush through some of the questions in the final segment of the exam as I was running out of time...and that probably did the damage.

However I know this is not the end of the world and this has actually motivated me more to study and reappear...will start planning for it once the feeling sinks in.

However for all those who are plaaning to give the exam..and feel prepared...do not let your confidence be infulenced by this..if you feel you are there just go ahead and give it a shot...and I am pretty sure you will clear it...the exam is tough..but its not impossible to clear...

Regards,

Venky

Venky - Keep your head up! Look at the positives and now you know what area to focus your efforts on.

Curious..what was your study plan and how did you do on practice exams?

Bad luck indeed.

Focus on Process Group where u have got BP in conjunction with the related knowledge area where you have felt u have ignored for a while to go all out.

Nevertheless, it might have just below the mark. Don't leave now. go through the book once agian in another 10 days and book for the slot on 30th July

You will sail through

i failed the first time too and looking to write my exam in 2 weeks. don't get yourself down, i was like that for 2 days but was determined to study again and re-read the pmbok and re-do mock exams. i was actually surprised how much information i didn't know which i thought i knew the first time.

you can't assume you know it, you have to know it down packed. Good luck on your next attempt. you can do it!!

Here are my two cents.

1) Make sure you are reviewing these type of questions against the page 43 dump that says - what comes next or what tools/inputs/outputs. You can get up to 10-30 questions correct based on this. First determine what you are doing falls under which process group and knowledge area. Apply the understanding of that process in answering your question. Use this approach in your test exams. ITTO mnemonics helps definitely.

2) Go through the tough questions and understand that. Here is my suggestion

101 mathematical questions, Scordo 12-18, Olievr Lehmann 175, Farndale, PM Zilla tough 30, Oliver 75, PM Zilla tough 200.

Understand why and hows of these questions, especially if they went wrong.

Only after that attempt PM Study 1-3. Then go for PMP For Sure. This was the closest an exam can get. If you are around 80, you are on track.

Now there are several questions that will be repeated across these test questions. Do not let that make you overconfident.

Good luck with your preparations.
